Sewer renovation in Holt

Sewer renovation in Holt, Wimborne
Wessex Water will be carrying out repairs of sewers in Holt after investigations of the condition of the network identified the need for repairs.
Relining and sealing sewers in this way helps protect the environment, preventing foul water escaping and groundwater entering sewers, which can lead to flooding or storm overflows automatically discharging into rivers or the sea if the system becomes overwhelmed.

This work will start on Monday 14 July 2025 for one week and is expected to finish on Friday 18 July 2025.
The repairs will be carried out using ‘no-dig’ techniques, which are quicker and less intrusive than replacing the pipe using the conventional manner.
- Monday 14 – Wednesday 16 July– Holt Lane will be closed to though traffic from outside Thornhill Cottage to just south of the junction of Holt Lane and Holt Road. A signposted diversion, using Holt Road, Whitesheet, Whitemoor and Harts Lane will be in place. Access will be maintained for residents but may be delayed at times and our onsite team will work with customers with regard to any specific access requirements.
- Monday 14 – Friday 18 July– Two-way traffic lights will be in place on Holt Lane, from outside The Old House to outside Post Cottage; Two-way traffic lights will also be in place on Holt Road, from outside Rosemond to outside Glenhurst.
There may be some noise disruption whilst this work is carried out, but every effort will be made to keep this to a minimum and complete the work as quickly as possible.
Water and sewerage services can be used as normal unless advised otherwise.
Wessex Water will shortly be writing to customers to advise them about this project.
