BT Boxes

Holt Parish Council would like to transform the redundant BT Box at Broomhill into an attractive feature by planting with flower boxes - any offers of help toward its renovation would be gratefully received!  We are also making plans with the Furzehill residents to turn the Furzehill Box into a Community Library (jointly with Colehill Parish Council) and we are also getting ideas together for the box at Holtwood.

Holt Village Green

Members recently discussed the idea of planting a Blossom Tree on the Village Green and the National Trust has very kindly offered to support this idea by donating three trees! We will plant these in the Autumn along with a ‘Tommy’ Figure to remember those who lost their lives in conflict.

Holt Parish Council continues to liaise with Dorset Council on how to relieve the pressure of traffic through the parish and are pleased that officers have agreed to install SLOW markings and 3-2-1 bars at both Broomhill Crossroads and Holt Road on Holt Heath. Further discussions will continue on other areas of concern.

New Councillor for Holt

We are pleased that the Parish Council is now back up to its full 9 members following the appointment of Cllr Jackie Egan on 30th June. Jackie has lived in the Parish for 15 years and will bring her local knowledge to our discussions.

Holt Cemetery

The Parish Council maintains the grass and grounds at the cemetery in Lodge Road. To continue to maintain this lawn cemetery we kindly ask that visitors do not plant flowers beyond the headstone on a grave.
